The next morning, the editor returns to the office to find that the golem has been replaced by a new one. The new golem seems happy to be working for the first time in a long time, and the artist is very pleased. He tells the editor that he's been growing vegetables for the last few days, and that he hopes to be able to eat them in the future. The next day the editor tells the artist that he doesn't have anything to worry about, but the next day, the artist wonders what's going on with the old golem. He wonders if it's just that the old one is getting tired of being around, and he wonders if the new one might just be growing vegetables to replace it. The artist decides to try and grow vegetables on his balcony, but he'll have to wait until the apartment is completely full of them.
