About This Chapter
The chapter opens with the narrator's declaration that he's not possessed by ghosts or demons. He's just sick. He tells the audience that he and his friend, a government scientist, have been studying a new type of human disease. They're called the "f - virus" because it's so difficult to understand. The narrator explains that the f-virus is the same as the "mother" and "father" viruses that caused the "living hell" in the first place. It's also the same guy who married his mother and then killed his father. He explains that they're both scientists at the same government research center. They were both studying the same type of disease, but they didn't know each other's names. The f-viruses were called "mother," "father," and "mother-father" because they couldn't understand one another's languages. They called the mother and father viruses "father-father," but the narrator doesn't like the way they call the father-father viruses. He wants to kill the narrator, but he can't do it. He says that the bite he got from her husband was so bad that it took him a full day to get better. He also read about the F-Virus on the web, and he found out that only a tiny fraction of people are infected with it. They recommend that the narrator get all the information he can from them, and if he ever has a problem, he knows what to do.
