The Governess comes in and tells the Governess that Ling hasn't left his room since his return. He's not even had a meal since he came home. She's worried about him and tells him to knock on the door. He does, and tells her that he's just worried about her. She apologizes, and says that it's because of her that she and Ling are like this. She tells him that he can stay in her room, but he can't come in to her room the next time he wants to. He says he'll prepare dinner for her, and she'll be happy to listen to whatever she wants to say.
