About This Chapter
The narrator wakes up in the middle of the night to find that his alarm has gone off. He's not sure what's bothering him, but he thinks it's because he's looking "a little blue" . He tells himself that he has a promise from the anakashi that he won't shrink back any time soon, and that he'll take whatever he can get. He thinks that the idols in the "three-legged" girls are scary, and he thinks that Keiko would get along with one of them. He also thinks that everyone else is going crazy, too, but the guys are the only ones who seem to be going crazy. The narrator says that he doesn't want to touch the idols because he thinks they might be parasites. He wonders if they could just knock them off with a "ball" , and then apologizes to the fox for scaring him when he jumped out of the wall. He says that after he moved to the city, he "really messed up" his social life, but after he met Ogami kun, kana, and keiko, he learned to be less tense. He asks the fox why he is talking to him all the time, and the fox replies that he wants you to believe that he heard him. He then says that animals who transform aren't as good at it as humans, and therefore shouldn't be living among humans.
