It's New Year's Eve, and Hirokazu and Haruki are getting ready to go shopping. Haruki is wearing a kimono, and they're both wearing traditional Japanese clothing. They're talking about the new year, and how they want to wish everyone a happy one. They both feel like they don't have much to do today, so they head off to the store to buy some new makeup. Hiroko is bummed that she can't find the bag of makeup she's looking for, but Haruki says he'll find it later. He's also bummed that they've run into someone in the store who's trying to catch up to them. He wants to hurry, but he's not sure how to do it, so he asks Haruki to turn the tap on so he can see what's going on. He doesn't want to get caught, but at least he can pretend to be angry.
