Lin tells the mayor that they were joking around, and that now that things have turned out the way they did, they'll have to forgive him. The mayor is shocked, and Lin tells him not to worry, because he'll be able to get revenge on him. Lin says that siduo will always be looking for him, and he doesn't want her to suspect that he's trying to cheat her. He says that if he has enough qi of fortune, he'd like her to let him make the village prosper, but that he only has so much left that it won't do much good anyway. He wants power, he says, and the only way to get it is to sacrifice himself to the gu insect god. Lin explains that for generations, the village worshipped the god of insects, but since a mysterious person sealed the god away, the villagers had lost their power. Lin asks the mayor if he knew that Siduo had planted an insect in him to make him come with her to save the village. He asks if the mayor knew that, in order to get him to come with Siduo, Siduo has planted the insect in his body. He's sure that she'll find him immediately
