A storm breaks out in the distance, and the pirates attack from the south. Axel tries to use his magic to block the attack, but it does not work. He calls for someone to come and help him, but Axel is too ill to do so. He tells his father that the pirates have arrived, and that they are ready to attack. He says that he will head south and hold off the attack until he can join him.
