In this chapter, we learn that the Russian army is preparing for an attack on the borders of the neighboring kingdom of Lyronaz. We also learn that albert has been informed about the situation, and that he has been sent to spy on the Russians. Believing that he is a spy, albert asks the guards to unlock his memories so that he can return to his homeland. The guards refuse to help him, but albert promises to show them the next day.
