We're back in the palace, where we're interrupted by the arrival of a mysterious man. It turns out that the man is none other than the mysterious wendigo, a.k.a. the "god make me famous" . We learn that he's been working on a new device that will allow us to listen to classical music from all over the world. We also learn that the second in command of the army, Aleksander iustus, has started issuing new patrol orders, which means that his daughter and son-in-law, Isabella and Eustacia, are now running the army. We'll find out more about this in the next chapter, but for now, let's just say that Alek is psyched to have a new toy to play with. He's also psyched to be able to play the piano again, which is something he hasn't been able to do since he was a kid. He also says that his uncle, Alek's dad, used to tell him stories about his uncle's life, and Alek is sure that this is true. Alek asks if he can go upstairs to look at the clothes they've just bought, and he says he'll do so. He asks why he didn't clap, and she says he could say he was, and then tell him what was going on.
