In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the Bronse monarch. Bronse is a dolphin who has been manipulating events in order to make it appear that he is in love with a particular woman. He has also been stealing magic power from the other dolphins, and he is grateful to fate for allowing him to meet her. He tells her that he still needs to erase her memory, but he is certain that she will be able to find him again in the sea of people.
