In this chapter, we learn that the witch's assistant, Ganymede, has been making salted fish for the kids in the group. One of the kids, who we'll call "wei wang," confesses to the witch that he's in love with her. He's not going to let her have it, though, because he doesn't want to be ignored. The witch, meanwhile, is busy making preparations for the next day's interaction with the kids.
