Chapter 16 is the most important chapter of the novel. It's the one where we learn that Lily is in love with Ganymede. She's so annoyed that she's trying to hurry up to meet him. We learn that he's a first-year student at the university. He's got a love letter for Lily, but he doesn't want her to have to read it. He wants her to keep it to herself. He also has a note from a guy named alcatel, who wants to hang out with a bunch of other students after school. He says that he wants to have a long talk with the other students. He tells them that he knows the trick to getting Lily to accept him. Lily will never accept him, he says, no matter how many times he tries to get her to change her mind about him. He then goes on to say that he truly likes her and wants to see what's going on behind the scenes in the creation of the characters.
