Mr. peng, the head coach of the swimming team at Minxin School, meets up with little sheng, the student at the school who has been swimming for a while but hasn't been able to do so for some time. He tells peng that he introduced the student to Minxin's club, and that the student has been picking up the sport again. Little sheng is impressed by the newcomer's talent, and he declares that he'll return to visit the school again. Worried that the newcomer is upset, peng reassures him that he can still advance in the next round of the competition if he's faster than half the other swimmers in the first round, even if his time is slower than usual. He says that everyone should reduce their daily training regimen and just relax, because it's important to be "simple-minded." . . He's excited to be participating in the school's sixth swimming competition, which will be held at noon the next day. He invites everyone to come to his school to watch him race, and then everyone will come to see him compete in the competition too. He thinks this is a great idea, since everyone will be able to come and watch his race, too, and it'll be a great way to relax before the competition starts. He also thinks that the other students at his school are "brats" who are bullying the students, so he tells sheng to beat them in the swimming competition.
