About This Chapter
In the midst of the excitement of the first day of the swimming competition at the Shanghai World Aquatics Championships, the young man is interrupted by the arrival of a reporter. The reporter inquires about the man's name, and the man tells him that he is Zhehai, or "the one who was talking about" . The young man, however, is confused by the reporter's attentions to him. He realizes that he has been put to waste in his training, and he feels sorry for running into the "grim-faced god" , but he does not understand why the man did not look at him. When the reporter asks him why he is being so interested in the man, he replies that he did not put his training to waste, and that the man has not swum for two years. He then asks the reporter if he thinks the man can handle the setback that might befall him in the following day's preliminary. The man replies that the swimmer is in the same preliminary as him, and they will meet later in the morning.
