In this chapter, we learn that the two of them have always loved each other, but that their love for each other has not changed. This is because they are both now openly gay, and they have agreed to keep each other's love a secret from each other. In order to keep the secret a secret, the two men have to wear the same clothes underneath their respective suits, and this is what they do. It's a little awkward, but it's the only way they know to keep their secret. The narrator tells us that he wants to be brave underneath his suit, too, but he doesn't know what to do with himself. He wants to rub the skin around his naked body, and he's afraid that if he does, it will make him look like a "slutty girl" .
