He says that he's never done anything like that before, and that he doesn't think it's a good idea. The narrator says that his symptoms of heat are usually mild, but now that he can't do his job, he'll have to quit. He's so sorry, he says, that he wishes he could have worked with him. He promises to support the narrator as he continues to work at the company. He also says that if the company wants to keep him, he will be there to do so.
