The novel's protagonist, Tomoyuki, complains to his teacher, Hiroyuki, that he's having a hard time getting over the fact that he has to live with Hiroyuki. He wants to know what it's like to be a lover, but he doesn't know how to express his feelings in a story. Hiroyuki assures him that they'll be able to find a place to live together, and he offers to cook for them.
