The narrator and his son go to a hotel to have a "blind date" with a man named Mr. Ganymede. The narrator tells his son that he's going blind because he wants to be with someone who's not his biological father. He wants to make sure that he doesn't look like his dad. He's also worried that his mom will be able to talk to him about something. He decides that the next time they meet someone, he'll go to the other side of the world and meet them in person.
