In this short scene, we learn that the Governess has decided to give a reward to anyone who clumsily sucks during class without being caught. The Governess asks her friend, Viola, to read the script that she's using in her acting class so that she can better understand what's going on between her and Viola's friend, Roxane. Viola confesses that she loves Roxane and wants to "lie to myself about" her feelings for her friend. When she realizes that the two of them are in love, she runs off to find her lover.
