About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's a guinea pig and that he wants to be rid of Eiji. He wants to get out of the house, but Eiji won't let him. He's not going to let him have a cat, he says, because he doesn't want to hurt the cat. The narrator says he'll have to redo the cat's scratch and scratch scratch, even if he cries. Eiji promises to give him a low-sugar coffee, but the narrator is not buying it. He says that Eiji will regret making him do dirty work if he finds him, and he says that he will be annoyed if he just gives it over to the cat and leaves. He also says that if he waits, Eiji would bring him the coffee, and Eiji says that's what he'd do, too. He tells the narrator that there are better places for people like him to get ahead in life than in a university, and the narrator says that this is a good point.
