In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, Chiron. He is a young man who has just graduated from high school. He has a crush on a beautiful young woman named Shu-Li, who is a friend of Chiron's from college. Chiron asks her if she is the woman in the photo that he saw earlier in the day. She replies that she is not, and Chiron tells her that she should learn to be a good person first. He tells her to work hard and become a good teacher. He also tells her not to call her by her first name, because it is too soon for her to be called a butterfly. He then tells her she is too young to call herself a "chrysalis" because she is still too young. Chiron then calls for saki, who tells him that he is not going to forgive him for ruining his wedding ceremony. saki tells Chiron that he has received many sages like him, and that he knows this will happen, but he does not realize who is doing this. He says that he knew this would happen, and it was quicker than he had expected. He asks saki if she has something to say, and she tells him to be careful because it was really her former fiance, not the other way around. She says that Chiron has come to ruin her wedding ceremony
