The chapter opens with Ruby lamenting the fact that the monster hunting party has left her and her family in danger. She is angry that they have to go out and startle the monsters that they do not know about. She feels that they are a team and that their selfishness is at risk. She asks if they still treat her like a loser, and Ureshino replies that she is "pretty straight laced" . Ruby wonders if she is like an assertive woman. She says that when she was young, she was afraid to stand up for herself. Now that she's 28 years old, she feels that she has to learn how to be herself. She wonders if it will be until she dies that she will be able to approach this new adventure in a new way. When she hears that the hunting team has some news to report, she wonders if they are communicating with the "reincarnated people" that she met in the underworld. She realizes that her ex has to follow her to another world to be continued.
