In this short scene, we learn that the dog, named Nemo, is a member of the yakuza, and that he's the one who attacked the intruder. Nemo tells the intruder that he doesn't want to hurt him, and he'll take care of it at home. The intruder, however, does want to fight, and the dog tells him that it's his job to protect his master. He says that if the intruder wants to fight with Nemo, he should be the one to do it. He also says that he won't allow the intruder to kill him, because that'll only make the intruder look bad. Nemo says that his job is to protect the master, and if he wants to kill the intruder, he can do so. He's not going to let the intruder kill him. He wants to make sure that the intruder is punished for his actions.
