The narrator apologizes for having a "crazy ing" and says he's sorry, but he can't forgive himself because he thought it would be a bad idea to mess around with other people. He's sure he two before that, so it was a good opportunity for him to be careful around people. The narrator asks what's up, and the guys say they're in a "war zone" and that they've had a "rocky relation ship" with each other since they joined the company. They tease each other about it, and then the narrator tells us that he and Misato are having a serious affair and that he'll be using his paid leave to do so on his girlfriend's birthday. He says he doesn't know why he was interrupted, but it's clear that he wants to get back to work ASAP.
