In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, Flip, who has been assigned to deliver a message to Mr. Lorry's ship. He is very excited to deliver the message, but he is not sure what to do with it since he has not received a price quote for the goods he is delivering. He asks Lorry if he can send the message to his ex-wife, whom he believes to be his best friend.
