The next morning, Huck finds himself alone in his hotel room. He's not sure what's going on, but he's pretty sure it's because of the letter he got from Victor. Huck apologizes to Victor for the way he treated him. He doesn't hate him, he just wants to be alone with him. Huck tells Victor that he'll be sleeping elsewhere tonight because he can't bear to be around Victor any longer.
