About This Chapter
In this chapter, the monster hunter, Mr. Feiersinger, tells the story of his encounter with the "Loch Ness monster" in the Carpathian Mountains of Russia in the winter of 1910. The monster, he says, is "gentle as a lamb" , but "not too much" . Apparently, the owner of the monster managed to tame the beast, and some people even say that one of the owner's friends died from his wound. The "tit" of the "monster" has become so big that the village of Tskhina, in the mountains of the Krasnodar region, claims that it has become "hotter than watermelons." The monster's strength is so great that the local boxer, Dr. Golovkin, has been knocked out in the first round of the fight. Mr. Dostoevsky, the local politician, is also in attendance at the fight, and he tells the monster-hunter that he's going to find out about the "nessie" in order to "find out the truth" about the creature's origins . Do you know the "truth" about your own "ancestors" ? Once his boxing career is over, he'll devote "more time" to the "wild people" from the mountains , who he believes to be his ancestors.
