About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's not feeling well. He's cold and needs to get some warm food. He asks if the carrots are tender or crunchy, and the narrator says either way. The narrator says that he doesn't know, but he does know that the coffee they bought together is good. He also says that the carrots don't look as good as they used to be, and that the pain often comes after they've been together for a long time. He tells the narrator that if he wants to go anywhere, he should go to the "love of god" and switch colors. He says that his first flight with the narrator was so good that he almost lost his hearing, but that's because he was screaming his "ass off" and ruining the moment. He wants to change, he says, and he wants more mature men like him. He adds that he is sick of waiting and immature men, and says he'll find out if he likes the red button above his phone. He thinks that his love for the narrator has just left him, and now that he knows, he doesn1t love him anymore. He doesn1T love him any more, he tells us, because there is a poem called "Behold the rose" by elodiestos, in which lovers kiss and "share their soul" as they sit together on a warm bench. He believes that this is the beginning of a relationship, because the lovers are getting to know one another before they start to fall in love.
