About This Chapter
Back at the gym, the Governess tells the gang that she has a gun and that she's going to surrender immediately to the police. The Governess says that she doesn't know what's up with the kid, but that she hopes the killer is dead. She says that the killer must have assumed that she was going to let the kid go, and that the murderer must have thought that she would never come back looking for him again. She tells them that she never said anything about the kid being dead, but the implication was that she had been murdered. She adds that she used to be a cop who investigated unauthorized births and flywires, so she knows that this is why someone would go to such a high level to keep secrets quiet.
