The narrator introduces us to Hiroshi and his family. Hiroshi has just broken his leg and is going to be in the hospital for four days. His mom introduces Hiroshi to her son-in-law, who is Hiroshi's current love interest, and Hiroshi thanks him profusely for his kind words. He tells his mom that he's going out with Hiroshi right now and that he was going to introduce her to the family on the weekends. He asks his mom to use the flower vase that Hiroshi gave her from the hospital to use as a gift for her. He also asks her if she'd like to bring him anything else he might need for his upcoming trip to Japan.
