Hiroshi's wife, yoshida, is married and has a child, but she has run away from home and is now living in France with her husband and child. Hiroshi is surprised to learn that his wife has returned home, but he is still puzzled by the news. He has just returned home from a visit with his son-in-law, who is a teacher at the school where Hiroshi used to be a student. When Hiroshi asks about his wife's whereabouts, he is told that she has barricaded the family's door with wooden boards.
