The scene opens with a loud thud, followed by the sound of a car's engine shuddering. The sound of the engine is followed by a series of thuds and groans as the driver of the car, Subaru, approaches. The girl in the passenger seat is shocked to see the driver's attentions drawn to her, and she begins to fear that the car is about to collide with the girl's body. As the girl recoils, she realizes that the driver has thrust the car into her body, and that she has been thrust into a "swamp" of pain. She realizes that this is the first time she has ever felt anything other than a "shake" or a "clack" in her life. She is horrified to realize that she is being thrust into an unnaturally painful situation.
