It's been a while since we've seen the narrator, and now he's back on the road. He's on his way to see his dad, who's out of town. He asks his dad why he hasn't come home yet, and his dad tells him that it's because his daughter, Nitta, is out with another man. Nitta's a secretary, so she probably doesn't have any feelings for the narrator. The narrator tells his dad that he'll have to wait until he hears from Nitta before he can say anything more about his love for his daughter.
