In this scene, the puppet master is trying to kill his love, Antanas, who reminds him of the "sweet taste" in her mouth. He suggests that they just let him kill her so that they can get together before dinner. The puppet master thinks that this is a good idea, but then he realizes that he's been too happy to be able to use his powers. He's tired, he says, and now that he can't use his abilities, he wants to give him a "hand" so that he won't "get bored" with watching people struggle. He wants to keep going, even if his body is cut, his bones are broken. The door is still open, and he finally manages to get in.
