In this chapter, the UM uses the poem "Gay Killing My Love Turn Off" as a starting point. The UM compares the poem to the game "Kl," which is a time-lapsed game in which people kill each other in order to win a prize. He thinks that the poem expresses "unmetable love," and that the creator of the game couldn't possibly have loved the person he or she killed. He believes that the game's time travel technology is 50 years ahead of human beings, making it impossible for people to experience such pain.
