In this short scene, we learn that the father of the young woman we met earlier in the novel is the same man who we met in the previous chapter. We learn that he is the founder and largest shareholder of the company, and that his daughter is the daughter of the man we saw earlier. The father tells his daughter that she cannot live in his house because she is not his daughter. He tells her that he will never allow her to live in the house of her mother, who has seduced her father. The young woman, however, refuses to listen to her father's insults, and the father tells her to leave the house.
