He tries to comfort her by saying that the affair is gossip and that she should not worry about it. He then goes on to say that if he were her husband, he would go and spread the gossip about the affair, but that he would not be able to do so because his wife's ring is already on her husband's finger. The manager then asks the woman if she is taking a bath, and she says yes. He asks her what is wrong, and the woman says that she has spilled some coffee. She then asks him to talk to her later.
