About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he hasn't gone into the house he's been looking for. He brought a flyer with him. The flyer advertises a five-bedroom, three-bathroom, living room with a price tag of $5000. The narrator says that he'd like to live on his own, but the house is so big that he doesn't think he'll be able to find a place to live. He's worried about the sound of someone's footsteps on the other side of the door. He also hears a woman being stabbed on the first floor, and the narrator tells him to stop worrying about that. The power went out, and he can't concentrate on his studies. The delivery man tells him that he has to wait until the next morning to deliver the package. He says that they asked him to leave the package outside so he wouldn't have to see the person's face. He wonders if it's a serial killer or if the person is just a woman. He realizes that he was the one who hit him on purpose, but he still wants to go home.
