This chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter, in which the protagonist is stuck in the body of a girl, and is rejected by her because of her beauty. The protagonist is overcome with anger at the injustice he has been subjected to. He feels that he has become so useless that he cannot force himself to do anything for the girl. He realizes that they are being targeted, and rushes to find a rat nearby to help him. The rat is nearby and can be treated at Base 2. The uncle rushes in to find out what is going on. He tells the protagonist that the rat has been shot in the arm, but that the bullet has not broken the glass. He also tells the story of how the protagonist's energy is draining because of the girl's beauty, and that the girl will die if her blood does not get replenished. He is convinced that this is because the girl is using her beauty as an energy source to drain her body's vitality. He closes his eyes and focuses on his eyes, and he feels an "uncomfortable feeling" approaching him.
