"Why am I following him?" asks the narrator, who has just parted ways with Mr. Kim. He's not sure that he's wrong, but he wants to be sure. He wants to know if he can act like he doesn't know what's going on. He wonders if he'll be able to do so if he sees the two of them together, and he wonders if there's a part of him in which he still feels the same way. The narrator admits that she got scolded by Kim today, and she apologizes for making her feel bad. She also admits that the day they went to the theatre, she almost vomited, because she was surprised, but she was upset because of how she spoke that day. She wants to spend the night with him, and asks if they can get into a cab together.
