About This Chapter
It's been a few days since the meeting, and the two of them are still talking. The young man is complaining that he can't go home because he gets car sick when he rides a taxi home. He's going to stay at a friend's house for the night so he won't have to worry about getting home sick. He tells the young man that there are people at school who don't want to spend the day with him because they're afraid he'll get drunk. He also tells the boy that he's not late, but that he might be late because he got home late from work. He asks if there's a lot of drinking going on at the hotel, and if it'll be a problem if he gets home late. The boy says that he doesn't know, but he does want to know if there are too many drunk people in the hotel. He says that if he goes home late, it will take him an hour to get home, but if he stays late, he can get home in the same time. The bed is nice, the blanket is warm, and they can buy beer on the way home. The girl is surprised that she hasn't slept yet, but the boy tells her that she can wash up before going to bed. He adds that the girl can stay on the bed if she wants, and he can do it himself if he wants. The two of us wonder if women are good after all, and she says that it's because people try to hook her up with girls at school. She tells us that she and her friends were talking about marriage for a long time, and that it was uncomfortable for them, too. She says that she's just glad that the topic of marriage wasn't on everyone's mind, because it would have made it even more uncomfortable for her.
