The narrator asks the other cafe owner why he is always interrupting the conversation. The man replies that he is too cunning to be rescued by the narrator. The rain is about to fall, and the narrator says that he remembers bringing an umbrella, but it is only a small one. He says that the rain will soon stop and that he will be fine. He tells the other man to "plop" him and take him back home.
