In this chapter, we learn that a kitten is about one year old and a two-month old, and that an old cat is about three years old. In other words, kittens are about the same age as human beings. The cat named Mocha is the oldest, and the kittens named Espresso and Macchiato are about two and one-half years old respectively. Mocha is a lively, tri-colored cat, with huge eyes and blue eyes; Espresso is a black and white cat with blue eyes and black ears; and Macchioto is a tri-coloured cat with large eyes and large ears. The three kittens have never met their mother before they were born, and they have no names. Mocha says that he is "mocha" , "macchiato" and "esopresso" . He says that they like their names very much, but that they never know what they are thinking. They are running late to school and need to find a place to eat. They go to a cafe, but the waiter is rude and the place is not very nice. They try another place, but it is not as nice as the one they went to.
