About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that King Moshoes has killed a child, and that he has taken great care to make sure that the child is well cared for. The children are left behind by the wind, so they are not able to flee. Moskip finds the child, who is a bit pale, but cute. He tells the children that they will have a mate in a few years, but they do not know who the baby is or where he came from. They do not believe him, but he is a gift from God. He will make them proud, and he will be a mate for many years to come. The child scares the boys, and they are afraid that it is a rat. They try to find a cure for the child's sickness, but nothing works. They will consult the writings of Medillum to find out the cause of the sickness.
