About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he'll send a letter to Roxane soon. He's got two older brothers, and he's worried that they'll be able to take care of him, too. He also says that he can't be a child anymore, and that he will be a junior high student in a few years. He wants to go to the park to look at the cherry blossoms. He asks Roxane if she'd like to join him, and she says she would, if it weren't for the fact that she's not sure if she should be happy. Roxane says that she doesn't know how to be happy, but she'll go anyway. She's also worried that Nemo has lost his parents, so she wants to cancel their flower-viewing until she can find Nemo's parents. She says she needs to find Nemo soon, or it will affect her savings account. The narrator says that both of them are liars, because they say that their cute faces don't make them happy. They're lying, she says, just like she is, because she uses her cute face as a tool to get what she wants from others. She adds that she and Roxane were supposed to go on a flower-fetching trip together, but that didn't happen because Roxane wanted to look more like her father or her mother, and Nemo cried for her.
