In this chapter, Shmoop introduces us to a new character named Fynn, who has just broken up with another student. Fynn is a "weird nerd" who loves to "look at the stars" . He's a little obsessed with the idea of "astronautics" , which is basically the study of how the universe works and how things in the universe work. Shmo is psyched to meet Fynn because he's always been interested in science and the stars. He tells Fynn that he can't wait to show him how to "really see" the stars when they're in the process of being formed.
