In this chapter, we are introduced to a young girl named "Ichigochan" and her friends, who are playing in the woods during "snack time" . We learn that the girl's name is "Noda" and that she is a member of the school's class of "little ichigotan" , which means "little one." She is a very shy girl, and she is afraid that her friends are watching her. Noda tries to calm her down, telling her that they are going to get hungry if they don't eat dinner, and that they will fall asleep if they go near the ghosts they have been playing with. She tells them to follow her home, but they are afraid that she has gone to sleep. She tries to comfort them, telling them that they can follow her back to the school if they want, but no one will listen to her
