In this chapter, we learn that Nemo's mission is to find out what has happened to the people of Tokyo. Nemo is also concerned about the heat in Tokyo, which has reached 40 degrees Celsius. Nemo tells us that he has been in an orphanage as long as he can remember. He was adopted by his adoptive parents, who came to look for a child to raise as their own. Nemo says that he did everything he could to survive in the orphanage, but that he was cold towards those who were polluting the world. He says that when he was with the cat, he felt like he was in love with her, and that she was a mysterious presence that comforted him. Nemo wants to take the cat with him to utopia, but he is afraid that he will not be able to find Nemo.
