This chapter opens with a young girl who has come to stay with her grandmother. The girl tells her grandmother that she loves her, but that her grandmother doesn't approve of the girl's pet, a little girl named Mi--or "Flower" as she's called by her friends. She tells the girl that she'll be coming back with her, and the girl promises to come with her.
