It's raining when the narrator goes to visit mori, and he's worried about what's going to happen to her now that she's gone. He's also worried about how he'll be able to live with mori now that he doesn't have to worry about him anymore. He wants to go back to the house where he used to live, but he can't go because he has to go somewhere else. He asks mori if she'd like to see him, but she won't let him in the house. The narrator tells us that he and mori didn't actually live together, but that there were more "good memories" created when they lived together. He says that he tried to control mori by making her wear a choker around her neck, so that she wouldn't trust him anymore if he ever abandoned her. He also says that if mori gives him another chance, he'd never betray her again. He tells mori that if he wants, he can stay away from everyone else, too. They used to be "brothers," but now that mori is dead, they're just like brothers again.
